Evening Standard Awards well deserved joint win by Benedict Cumberbatch & Johny Lee Miller

coverage of the Awards
lornasp:
Benedict Cumberbatch, 35, and Jonny Lee Miller, 39, shared best actor’s award for alternating in the roles of the scientist and the creature in Danny Boyle’s version of Frankenstein.
Cumberbatch wanted to attend the ceremony so much that he agreed to a drive through the night back to a film set in Belgium for a 7am start.
It was right they shared the honour, he said. “It is absolutely what the whole venture was about - we split labour on it, we held hands jumping over cliffs on it and we ended the journey with it.”
Miller, who lives in Los Angeles, said he had never won an award before and would love to perform in London theatre again. “I’m very, very happy. It was one of the best work experiences I’ve ever had in my life.”
