The Tempest:

review (though I shan’t give away too many things, it might take the magic away for others who want to see it)

It was bloody fantastic!
That was the first time I’ve ever seen a Shakespeare play performed at Shakespeare’s globe and it was atmospheric. We all laughed a lot :)
Roger Allam was superb! A brilliant Prospero with a wonderful presence on stage.
Colin Morgan was truly fantastic!
I think the best way to see your favourite actors/actresses/singers/whatever, is to see them doing what they love, and to see them doing what you love them doing. To see my favourite actors performing is the best experience!
Colin was nimble and quick, cart-wheeling a few times, swinging a few feet above the ground every now and then, running round the edge of the globe. He actually ran just behind me at one point, I couldn’t see him, but we all could sure hear him and that wonderful music!
Ah, Music! Not only were the musicians incredible, but we all finally know what Colin sounds like… well, some of us do, and you can all rest assured, that man has talent. His voice was incredible, I was thinking “Bradley, dear, you’re not wrong”.
Ah, I got a request to chat about him on stilts, well, they weren’t the typical stilts that clown-acts use, but they were stilts of a form, part of the outfit that was released to us all a few days ago and a lot of people were confused and slightly scared ;) That was Ariel as a Harpy.
So anyway, things I learnt about Colin Morgan:
he can sing, he can dance, he’s smooth and athletic, and he can bloody well act… okay, I knew the last one already, but this just reinforced it!
I enjoyed every second, so many characters made me laugh! The story was great! I want to go again!!!
The atmosphere and community that you feel in the Globe is lovely! (Though due to it not having a proper roof the helicopter and a few planes made me want to sigh and giggle at the same time).
Thank you, Shakespeare, for bringing us this!
